It is with great displeasure that I write this review.I have been attending Clarence Street Snap Fitness and the space lacks cleanliness and is sadly filthy. Gym is meant to bring health and positive aspects to our life.I was a previous member at Snap fitness in Perth, where the situation was very different and have moved to Sydney in the last 2 weeks. The Clarence Street location was the most convenient for me to attend.I tried to the manager (whom is hardly ever at the reception desk and only found exercising) as to work with improvements for a filthy environment is unacceptable. The gym has no soaps in most of the toilet sinks, stations where wipes are located is super dirty around… the other day there was not a single alcohol gel bottle filled to be used. Dust is everywhere especially weight sections. This week the stair climber equipment has a spider web right in front, with a spider hanging there. The manager asked me to send him an e-mail yesterday, which I did. I wrote and included pictures as to the matter. I wasn´t comfortable with the fact that I had already spoken and no one else was in copy as to address the issue. The manager replied to my e-mail on the same day, informing those actions would be taken, but on the following day I was surprised with an unexpected incident today towards me.Today, I was surprised with a rude approach from one member, which and opted not to reply and continued with my music and exercise. I didn´t respond and wished the man “all the best” when we left the gym at the same time. Latter that day the same manager sent me an e-mail filled with lies as if I was the one with inappropriate behavior in the gym, when I was the one who received an unexpected attitude when returning the man´s towel. The manager wrote that I had inappropriate behavior at the gym, to members and staff members. That I was no longer welcome at the gym. This is a lie and didn´t occurred at all!!I am surprises and shocked with these two incidents which apparently might be connected… I felt so unsafe today. I was the only women and was mistreated and later received an email filled with lies. I only wanted to use one of the 3 benches, which 2 were being used and the third was occupied by his towel. I decided to wait and do another exercise. While I was doing a rep of 4x18, the man that left his towel at the beach only came once. Once I was finished, I literally went to him and ask if I could use the equipment. He said yes. Which was great. I had music on my ears and grab his towel to give it back to him. OMG! That guy, freaked out, he was so arrogant, saying he could grab the towel himself and that I was rude to touch his towel. He kept speaking rudely towards me (I felt harassed). That was just awful! I felt so mistreated by the tone of his voice and the way he kept speaking to me. I said I didn’t hear him and didn’t know it was rude to give the towel back to him. Afterward I only said: “you’re a very rude man, and I’m glad I’m not listening to you, as I have headphones on”. It was awful, really. I felt terrible and didn’t feel safe at all.I am very surprised with this entire situation and neve had similar experience. I find this experience at this gym unacceptable. All the bestJulianna

My experience with Snap was pretty good right up until the end, and they've dropped the ball so badly and caused such a poor experience, I feel compelled to leave a negative review, have cut up the door pass, and will never return. If there is any possibility you may need to cancel your membership, DO NOT consider joining Snap Fitness.I sent my request in writing by e-mail as requested while attending the gym in person. Was given verbal confirmation the e-mail was received and that my 30 day notice period would start from then. I did not receive an auto responder in response to the the e-mail sent.2 months later, they are still charging me. When following up the matter, I was asked to send the original e-mail request. I forwarded the e-mail from my sent box, and they responded indicating that the evidence isn't good enough to confirm I sent the request on the date it was sent. They tried to tell me that my 30 day notice period would begin from today and that they would not refund the 3 inappropriate charges past the 30 day notice period from the original request. As a result, I've had to cancel my credit card on file with them and initiate a fraud claim with my bank. Evidence supplied to the bank clearly shows that I requested cancellation on a specific date. Clearly, this is not an argument the gym can win and the bank will absolutely refund me...It seems to me, all Brad Dawes has accomplished today is ensuring a client would never return to any SNAP location ever while creating extra stress and work for himself while having to deal with a fraud claim with the financial institution... Well done mate.

Great gym. Amazing location and has everything you need given it is in the city. Prices are reasonable. The machines are all high quality and generally well maintained. Lively, friendly environment, gets busy after/before work but even then it isn't too cramped. Ever since Brad has come in to manage the gym the place has been far livelier. There are regular events, challenges and deals that keep you coming back, and in general Brad is extremely friendly and supportive. Plenty of toilets and showers, which can get steamy but not worse than any other gym shower I've been to. Have been a member for a while and would highly recommend.
